How are we doing?

Image
Hello Community! How are we holding up out there during this quarantine? Are you able to keep up on you nutrition? How about our home workouts? Or are we able to get out and get walks/runs in?  I know these past 2 weeks have been really hard for me - I have felt like I have lost my MOJO BIG TIME! I was doing great for about 3 weeks - I was living at my parents house, taking care of my Dad who has Alzheimer's, homeschooling my 10 yr old son, and my Mama was in the hospital (NOT Covid related)... LOTS on my plate, but still did my workouts and my nutrition was ON POINT ! When I get home - it felt like everything STOPPED . I was exhausted. Mentally drained. Body not wanting to move. The thought of exercising was overwhelming. So the first week, I rested. Well, 1 week led into 2 and then I started feeling frustrated, angry, depressed. I started my workout plan this past Tues night and IT FELT GREAT! !! So, we are getting back on track to working out 4-5x a week and nutrition...

Thankful/Grateful...

How is everyone holding up being in quarantine? How are we sticking to our goals? I want to take this time to encourage you and to keep going. I KNOW that it's hard - everyone is going stir crazy...everyone is losing their minds....some are homeschooling...some are also caring for elderly parents at the same time...some are having to homeschool, work from home, AND making sure their parents are ok (nursing home, skilled facility, assisted living, on their own, etc)... WE CAN DO THIS! How are you handling the stress of life right now? I know that I am able to take my mornings and be THANKFUL. THANKFUL THAT... My son and I are healthy I woke up this morning I am able to spend some quality time with my son I am able to participate in my son's education - I can see what he is learning and help guide him in the process of learning I am able to workout with my son in the living room and am able to use #FitOn app  I am able to cook healthy foods for my son and I I h...

We are now in week 2 of being on "lockdown" for most of us... How are we holding up? Going stir crazy yet? I know what has been helping me is homeschooling my 10 yr old boy, getting out and going for a walk/run when the weather permits or doing an at home workout with the FitOn app. THAT has been "saving my bacon", fa reals!! Share with me what has been helping you keep sane during this time... I NEED IDEAS and motivation! :)   Consume our Heart, Soul, and Mind with the things of God. HE will get us through these times and enjoy the time that we get to spend with our family...

Staying healthy during this time....

Hello! Here it is towards the end of March and where does it find us as a society? It feels like "lockdown in a prison" and not having really any contact with others. As much as this may stink and not being able to really live our lives that we normally do, I think that this is a wake-up call for us all. We should already be practicing good hygiene with washing our hands, covering our mouths with our elbows when we cough, using hand sanitizer, etc. etc. However, we need to be also practicing KINDNESS towards others during this time. Have we checked on the elderly people in our lives to see if there is ANYTHING we can get for them, so they don't have to go out and face the nastiness of some people? What about our neighbors? We need to... In the midst of the social distancing and the like, we can still get our fitness in and stay on track with our fitness goals.  I know this is hard at times, but now would be the perfect time to get in the habit of MEAL PREPPI...

Welcome March!! How are we on this health journey?...

Here it is MARCH 2020 already!!! Time is flying by! How are you doing in your health journey? I've been getting a lot better with my exercise (this is the TOUGHEST part for me!) and my water is increasing. For the most part, my nutrition is good, but of course there are ALWAYS room for improvements!  I'm a snacker, especially late night - who else is with me in this?? What is the biggest struggle that you are facing right now on your journey? Tell me how I can support you and help you succeed. I need accountability to exercise - I have all the time, so that's not an issue - it's motivating myself to get it done! How do you keep going when you don't feel like it? I have some SERIOUS goals I want to accomplish and I KNOW that the best way to get there is my nutrition and MOVEMENT ! AHHH!!  Comment below on how you are doing and how I can support you!

It has been a crazy month full of sickness running through my household...son had the flu and acute ear infection for a week and I've been fighting through head congestion... HOWEVER , this did NOT stop me from working out just about daily, focusing on nutrition, and my gallon water intake. So here is an update... Same dress, different woman! Minus 70 lbs and counting how many inches. Left is at 348 in May 2019. Right is just now at 283. About 90 more to go ... Here is to keeping going on my goals that I would LOVE to crush THIS YEAR  #GoalsToCrush   #FitAt50   #HealhtyMama   #HealthyFamily

Happy February!

So it's ALREADY in February! How are things going with your health goals? How are we being consistent?  I have to admit that I have NOT been very consistent with my exercise; however, been pretty good on the nutrition. The Super Bowl of course DID NOT HELP me stay on program, but it wasn't a total loss (sorry 49ers - my team!) :( But this is a new day and a new month. If you, including myself, have "fallen off the wagon" or not been consistent with either exercise or the nutrition, we pick ourselves back up and keep going. Keep putting forth that effort. What I am being consistent on is not just nutrition, but logging in my food and exercise in my fitness journal (found a Wal-Mart for $5! ). Here are some pics/memes that I have come across that I've really taken to heart, if you will. They have encouraged me, made me laugh, and some reminded me of my reason I'm on this journey. I hope they can do the same for you. ...
