Tough and Rough Week

Hey all!

This past week was a little rough for me mentally... 

I've been working my butt off, staying on plan (only 1 treat meal in 2 weeks), and only lost .8 pounds and 1/4" overall. I know that there are times where my body is going to take a 'breather" to adjust to the weight loss/inches... it's just disheartening when I take my 2 week progress pics and not really see a difference.

Then I have to look back at where I started from and look at the most recent set of pics and see that I have come a long way... 

All this to say is, don't let a tough/rough week mentally screw you up for the entire journey. It's mental. It's hard. It's a daily grind... 

BUUUUUUUT... WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!!!

June Progress

Can't believe that it's already the middle of June!

I'm sorry I haven't written in a bit - I've been training and went back to CA for a week for vacation! YAY!

The Coach I've hired, Melanie, is phenomenal!

In 6 weeks, I have lost 13" and 10 pounds!!!

More Progress pics...

Hello and it's ALMOST JUNE!!! I can't believe how fast the time is really flying by!!!

How are we all doing out there? How are we coping being "pent-up"/quarantined? What have you been able to accomplish since being at home that you wouldn't have been able to accomplish otherwise? Was it home projects? Reading? Working out? Cooking favorite meals or even trying new ones? Being engaged with your kids - EVEN DURING HOMESCHOOLING? LOL 

ORRRRRR... has it been the mindset of being miserable? "I can't go anywhere?" "What am I supposed to do now!?" Eating has been uncontrollable...working out? What's that? Everyone on their devices?

I've chosen the first set. Meal prepping, working out, spending quality time with my son, doing a puzzle with him, teaching him how to cook basic things.... reading together... snuggling more....


I've spent this past month revamping my thinking or shall I say mindset on this health journey. Once I started to deal with being in my own head and working on the negative self-talk, it's been getting easier to make this change. Forgiving myself for things or choices that I made when I was younger and letting that go - SO FREEING! 

Do I still need to put in the work - YOU BET! Do I still need to meal plan/prep - ABSOLUTELY!

Progress!!

Hello!!!

Yes, it's been a little bit since I've written - I've been working on getting myself together physically and mentally! I have decided to compete in a bikini competition - that won't be for at LEAST another 3-4 years! But for now - it's all about shredding the fat and gaining my lean muscle. I am praying that my skin will respond, so I don't have excess skin. I would hate to spend the money on skin removal and body lift, but if that's what needs to be done - so be it.

In my 1st two weeks, I have worked out 4x a week, ate a specific meal plan - eating 5 small meals a day - and I lost.... 7 pounds and 8" already!!!

I feel stronger, have more energy, more endurance...just down right healthier!!!  Below are the pics of my starting this process and then what was taken 2 weeks later.

Motivating May!

Welcome to the month of MAY!!! Can you believe it?  How are we holding up during the quarantine? Still keeping up with your nutrition and movement/exercise??

I started or shall I say re-started a nutrition/meal plan. I actually hired a coach. Her name is Melanie Martin, IFBB Pro. Yes, she is an International Federation BodyBuilder Pro!!! I've decided to work towards becoming a competitor in a bikini comp in about 3-4 years. Right now, it's losing body fat, while building the lean muscle. Then, developing that muscle to have more definition.

Right now, I'm eating 5 small meals a day and working out 4x a week with my coach. The amazing thing is, that I started this new journey on Monday, May 4th and as of today, May 6th, I've already lost 2 pounds. Now I know that it is WAY to early for any real excitement in my weight/fat loss, but the fact that I'm being consistent with my eating and exercise is HUGE for me! I know that this will be a VERY LONG haul to get to the stage, but I KNOW that I can do it!

How are we doing?

Hello Community! How are we holding up out there during this quarantine?

Are you able to keep up on you nutrition? How about our home workouts? Or are we able to get out and get walks/runs in? 

I know these past 2 weeks have been really hard for me - I have felt like I have lost my MOJO BIG TIME! I was doing great for about 3 weeks - I was living at my parents house, taking care of my Dad who has Alzheimer's, homeschooling my 10 yr old son, and my Mama was in the hospital (NOT Covid related)...LOTS on my plate, but still did my workouts and my nutrition was ON POINT!

When I get home - it felt like everything STOPPED. I was exhausted. Mentally drained. Body not wanting to move. The thought of exercising was overwhelming. So the first week, I rested. Well, 1 week led into 2 and then I started feeling frustrated, angry, depressed.

I started my workout plan this past Tues night and IT FELT GREAT!!! So, we are getting back on track to working out 4-5x a week and nutrition is for the most part good. It's NOT on point, but we're getting back to that meal by meal.

What are YOU struggling with during this time for all of us?  What can I do to help you? How can I encourage you to stay on the journey? Don't give up!

Thankful/Grateful...

How is everyone holding up being in quarantine? How are we sticking to our goals?

I want to take this time to encourage you and to keep going. I KNOW that it's hard - everyone is going stir crazy...everyone is losing their minds....some are homeschooling...some are also caring for elderly parents at the same time...some are having to homeschool, work from home, AND making sure their parents are ok (nursing home, skilled facility, assisted living, on their own, etc)...

WE CAN DO THIS!

How are you handling the stress of life right now? I know that I am able to take my mornings and be THANKFUL.

THANKFUL THAT...

  • My son and I are healthy
  • I woke up this morning
  • I am able to spend some quality time with my son
  • I am able to participate in my son's education - I can see what he is learning and help guide him in the process of learning
  • I am able to workout with my son in the living room and am able to use #FitOn app 
  • I am able to cook healthy foods for my son and I
  • I have the CHOICE to eat "on plan"
  • I can talk to my parents over the phone
  • I am able to re-connect with my friends in CA via ZOOM or FB Messenger
  • I can finally deep clean my house
  • I am able to organize and de-clutter items
  • I am able to have quality quiet times with Jesus and grow in my relationship with Him
  • As I de-clutter, I am able to post some things online and make a little extra money for my family
WHAT ARE YOU THANKFUL/GRATEFUL FOR TODAY???
